2012 sailing greetings to all Dart sailors worldwide from the Windsport Dart support team. May we wish all Dart sailors, Dart events, Dart clubs, Dart associations and families great winds, sunny skies and lots of fun Dart sailing. Below is just a short update on what is going on with the manufacturing / service support aspect of Dart catamaran sailing activity.

New Boat for 2012

2012 sees a new chapter in Dart sailing with hull manufacturing back in Europe for the start of the season. Although the Dart was originally produced in Europe the production was moved to South Africa for a number of years. Manufacturing options are for ever changing and it is now practical to re-establish production in Europe as well as South Africa.

Dart Parts

The Windsport team supplies all appointed “Dart Partners” with a comprehensive range of replacement Dart parts, which meet class specifications. Pre-season production and stock has been under way over the winter in preparation for the 2012 season. Many Dart Partners placed their pre-season orders at the end of last year and will be receiving their deliveries on time ready to service your requirements in 2012. For Dart owners who do not have access to a regional Dart Partner, Windsport offers a replacement parts service via our UK website www.catparts.windsport.co.uk

Dart Coaching

Dart sailors worldwide are encouraged to join together to enjoy their sailing but also to learn and improve their skills. By contacting your national Dart class association or regional Dart Partner you can join others and learn from the best. The Dart Windsport team also provides Dart coaching at all levels of sailing for Dart groups and individual sailing teams. Our professional coaching team (including the 2010 Dart Champion) delivers coaching around the world. Contact your national class association, regional Dart Partner or Windsport Coaching.

Dart Class Legal Modifications

The Windsport team, working with the Dart rules committee and Dart partners, have introduced a number of minor modifications over the last two years that make sailing your Dart more fun and less hassle. The two modifications that benefit Dart sailors most are the introduction of a specialist plastic material to replace the rudder blade washers and inserts, eliminating these area of corrosion. The other modification is an adjustable tiller connecting bar end that allows you to simply align your rudder blades. Both these items are a simple retro-fit to all Darts with class legal equipment. The items can be viewed on the website www.dartcatamaran.co.uk via the Dart parts link - item 20002 and 20028.

Dart Boat Accessories

Looking after your Dart and protecting it from the elements protects your investment. A full range of specifically designed, protective covers are available for your Dart: Dinghy park covers, towing hull covers, mast sleeve, rudder covers. French Nationals 2011

From Augu5 till August 28 the 2011 French Nationals will take place in La Rochelle. A great sailing venue!!

Dutch Nationals 15-17 July 2011

From July 15 till july 17 2011 the Dutch Nationals will be held in The Hague on the North Sea. A perfect location for a last training for the Dart18 2011 Worlds in Knokke!!

To find the location for the Dutch Nationals on July 15th till July 17th 2011 do the following:

Put in your Car GPS system: DUIVELANDSESTRAAT 75, Den Haag(you find here café Duinzicht). On the opposite site of the street from the café you take the footpath into the dunes. At Strandafslag 10 you enter the beach and go left.
You can bring your boat to this footpath on Thursday July 14th from 20.00 hours or on Friday July 15th from 8.30 hours till 10.00 hours. From here your trailer and boat will be brought to the beach with a tractor. Make sure you make 10.00 hours on July 15th, otherwise your boat with trailer cannot be placed on the beach.

A diner will be arrranged on friday and saturday evening! The Dutch Dart Association has arranged a place to park trailor/Darts between the Dutch Nationals and the Worlds in The Hague.

So no reason not to come!! See you all on the beach!!

Entry fee after the 15th of May

Dart sailors,

We like to remind you that the entry fee for the Dart 18 Worlds will go up from 275 euro to 350 euro for payments done after the 15th of May! So for people who have already registered or know people who would also like to compete = Make sure you make your payment before 15th of May if you want to profit from this early payment discount.

What is included in the Entry Fee:

* The regatta
* 2 Diners
* Welcome Package with among other things a Worlds Dart 18 Polo & Rash Guard
* Opening Ceremony
