The 2009 Dart Worlds will be held from Friday November 20th till Saturday November 28th 2009 in Palm Beach on Aruba.

The preliminary scedule for sailors who choose the all-inclusive package is:

Friday: flight from Amsterdam to Aruba
Saturday:  boat preparing and measurement
Sunday: measurement, practice race and first 2 races

Monday: 3 races
Tuesday: reserve day
Wednesday: 3 races
Thursday: 3 races
Friday: 1 race, loading containers and Price giving
Saturday: Flight from Aruba to Amsterdam (arrival in Amsterdam on Sunday)

To be fully prepared for the event you can arrive earlier on Aruba. From Monday November 15th 2009 the containers with the boats will be available on the beach in front of the Holiday Inn Resort at Palm Beach.

The Aruba Dart Worlds organisation is very busy preparing the event. They are discussing costs with the hotel, airliner and container transporter. Due to the economic situation the discussions about costst takes longer then expected. They hope to inform you all about costs very shortly. The information will then be available on www.dartworlds2009.com and on the IDA website.

For sailors that like to organise there own travel to Aruba, hotel etc., it will be possible to make your own arrangements. The price per item you arrange yourself will be deducted from the all-inclusive package.

The warm trade winds and crystal waters make Aruba a sailors paradise and nothing comes closer to perfection than sailing in Aruba! The offshore breezes (Beaufort 3 –5) ensure the seas are slight and the excellent race management of the 2009 Dart Worlds means that the races are run on time and close to the beach giving non sailors and public the chance to see what is going on.
